I registered a domain through Yahoo, but I can design/upload/manage my own web-site without paying a monthly fee to Yahoo. While whois tells me it’s registered through Yahoo, I’m having trouble finding out how to manage it without purchasing their monthly plan. Help!!!
But how do I manage it without paying the monthly fee? Do I NEED to transfer it to another company? That seems silly! Sorry, but neither answers the “how do I manage it within yahoo” question. Thanx!

No, you are not forced to do that. You are allowed to get your websote online with another web hosting service.
As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
They are a Multi-awarded Web Hosting which offer a Full-featured service only $6.95. You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:

******IMPORTANT********
* This service was awarded “The Best Web Host OF The Year”.
* If you sign up for this service you will have $75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!
* You Can Register A Free Domain or Use Your Existing Domains. They Support All Domain Names.

Good Luck!
You have to find a webhost and they usually charge monthly fees, you can host it with your own server.
If you find a free host that excepts domain purchase call that company up and they will walk you thru. They usually place banners and your website.
