I created a website and I want to use my pc as a server for everybody to see on the world wide web.Oh yea i want to learn using apache 2.2.

Chosen Answer:

I’d recommend you to try iPage. iPage is a well known website hosting server providing excellent hosting solutions for the past many years. Their features are easy to use even for a novice. When you host your website on any website hosting server, the knowledge on how to manage a hosting server is very handy.

But when you use iPage you simply need to manage the control panel which is easy to use. The control panel is the best in the industry, Vdeck. If you want to learn more about how the control panel works, you simply can refer to the help pages. >> http://p.gs/08i5e

I am looking for a hosted project collaboration tool to manage my client projects. Some of my requirements are:
1. It must be intuitive and easy to use.
2. It must have basic project management features like tasks and milestones with the ability to specify due dates.
3. I would like to be able to brand it so it looks like my company.
4. Integration with email would be great too since I know I probably won’t be able to get some of my clients to use the tool.

Any recommendations?

Chosen Answer:

Some products to consider are:
Basecamp: http://www.basecamphq.com
Central Desktop: http://www.centraldesktop.com
TeamWork Live: http://www.teamworklive.com

They are all hosted, easy to use, and all allow you to brand the site.

Basecamp is the simplest to learn but it has limited project management features. Note that you do not have the ability to assign due dates to to-do items in Basecamp.

Central Desktop is the most full-featured of the three: it includes many additional features like online databases, customizable pages, and web meetings (costs extra). The amount of features makes it harder to learn, though, which might be a problem if you are using this with clients.

My personal favorite is TeamWork Live: it has Basecamp’s ease of use but it is much more full-featured. It is also fully integrated with email so your clients don’t even have to login in to the site to collaborate with you. They can simply reply to the notification emails and it will automatically be saved to TeamWork Live. They have other features which I really like too, such as a full-text search engine and an internal Gmail-like messaging system.

I’m putting together a site that aggregates articles about project collaboration software along with reviews of each of the product if you are interested. You can check it out at: http://www.projectcollaborationcenter.com

Cheers,

Chosen Answer:

Lol you see “The Social Network” movie? Inspired heh? Well don’t want to break it too you or anything but… its not that simple. If it was soo simple, everybody would do it and be rich. I’m not too sure how to do it, but if you manage to get through all the hard work and legal business, congratulations. Well, back to your question. Well you will need to learn to make a website, learn some programming like Php, html, and other ones like that. You wont be able to do this alone if you don’t have those kind of talent. Post some papers around your town looking for people to help you out, it will make it much easier to find people. Somebody in your town is bound to have that kind of skill. Think of an name for the website. This can be difficult to get a website name that fits well, and is not taken and is legal. Everything else I really don’t know sorry. I’m not all to great with these legal things. If you do get the right things though, i’m sure you can pull it off

Which is the best webhosting company for windows hosting?
I want to host websites made in ASP.Net 2.0. I am currently using the webspace of an Indian hosting company, but its service is the worstest. Sometime, FTP gone offline, SMTP does not work and so and so.

So which hosting compnay can host these websites by affordable price and great server uptime and good “after taking money” service?

Is there any Indian hosting company too, which falls in this category, for good services?

Chosen Answer:

Well , there is hostgator , google host yahoo and godaddy.
But the most recommended and best web host so far is www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com ; Network Juice.

They now offer plans starting around .99/mo for a great amount of diskspace plus everything else unlimited. Plus they’ve manage to keep up 99% Uptime.

They have all features such as PHP5, java ,Cpanel , Fantastico ( allows you to auto install Blogging systems and CMS portals without wasting time) , Cron Job , Apache ,Unlimited Dadabase , ftp accounts and much more. Basically EVERYTHING! is supported.

There are other affordable plans as well in NetworkJuiceHosting.com.

Hostgator.com is also a great host , but there Uptime time is not so good. Also , customer service is very poor , Not to many features are supported.

Google.com not so sure , But i know there’s lots of files they do not support , no Cpanel , and i don’t know how come , but they have been receiving downtimes lately in their host servers.

yahoo , let me just say it’s the worst web host ever ,you can’t even host the amount of domains you want to host . Including FatCow.com. The downtime is way to much , and many files are un-compatible in fatcow for some reason.

To buy a domain , the most recommended site is godaddy , but not for it’s hosting!! I Tell you !!!.

For a Great Affordable web host with maximum features , the most recommended web host is www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com . ; Network Juice Hosting.

You are getting your answers from an expert , and yes I have tried all these web host.

That’s all I got to say mate

In google images, you can adjust the filter to display different levels offensive imagery (i.e. nudity, profanity, etc), but with the millions maybe billions of images online, how is it managed? Is there a google department in charge of surfing the internet to flag images? Or is it simply an algorithm of some sort?

If you’re just going to guess, how about you just don’t answer!

Chosen Answer:

Google does have a user powered program that gets people to ‘tag’ random images for fun in their spare time. The more times an image is tagged with related keywords, the more confident Google can be that the image is what people are saying it is, and eventually those tags will be used to find that picture in the search results.

This is not the only way Google does it though. They do have computer algorithms that analyze and sort images very efficiently (it’s the only way possible, even a team of hundreds of users could never tag every image out there).

Google Images also has an option to search for images with faces. I believe this uses the same algorithm used in Google Street View to identify and blur faces. Some people comment on the fact that it’s pretty good at picking up faces even when they are not real, in one case the logo for KFC was blurred.

The algorithm for safe filtering is not perfect though… there are still things that can get through, especially if you use unusual search terms. I am studying Computer Science at University and in my opinion, the safe search option is done using a combination of algorithms and human intervention to help remove offending content that was not caught by the system automatically (as I noted earlier, this can only be done for a limited number of popular search terms though, so not everything gets filtered).

The algorithm most likely uses one of two methods (or both):
A) Identify the image as safe or not by determining whether the webpage it is hosted on is ‘safe’. This is most likely done by analyzing words on the page in a similar way to how Google indexes pages in the text search. This can’t be the only way since I know of websites that have completely unrelated text that don’t have their images show up in the ‘safe’ search.
B) Attempt to identify pornography by either measuring the ratio of skin-tone colours to non skin-tones (i.e. try to determine how much ‘skin’ is showing) or using object recognition to identify ‘offending’ areas of the human body such as breasts or genitalia.

I should also mention that there is a report feature users can utilize to report offending images. This also helps filter out much of ‘unsafe’ images from popular search terms.

Hi,

I think your school admin has enabled a centralized permission feature to the wifi. Unless he/she permits you, you cannot access the services from it.

I have a computer on my desk at work and I’m whasting so much time on facebook & youtube. I managed to get firefox to block them but then I logged off, restarted the computer and logged on, which made firefox stop blocking them. Anyone know how to get a browser to PERMANENTLY block a website? You’d save me so much trouble!

Chosen Answer:

To block sites using Host Files, follow the following procedure.

Click the Start button and select Run. Now type the following text in that Run box:
notepad c:WINDOWSsystem32driversetchosts
Navigate to the last line, press enter and add the following lines and save the file.
127.0.0.1 Xyz.com
127.0.0.1 example.com

.4.Replace the above sites with the one you want to block. Do not add the “http://”

With this technique you can block as many sites as you want to. If you want to unblock any of these sites just add # before 127.0.0.1 or simply delete the line itself.
