Listening to the arguments and pros vs. cons of Govt. managed health care, I cant help put think of the history of 600 dollar hammers, banker bailouts, and a host of other blunders our elected officials have brought to us.
Chosen Answer:
How about Cash for Clunkers? The people getting the cars I guess are happy about using their own and tax payers money to get new cars for their old ones. But, the car dealerships aren’t too happy with the government because they are not getting their money from the government. The credit the car buyers got came out of the car dealers pockets and they aren’t getting their money back very fast.
If the government can’t fore see the problems that has arised from this program how is the world will they get it right with heath care? The answer is, They Can’t.

Anything would be better than what we have right now. Too many people are uninsured and for many of those who are insured, they have to pay way too much for partial coverage. You can lose your coverage if you leave your job or develop a “pre-existing condition”. Not only that, but insurance companies can deny your claims for any reason they choose and drop you at any time they feel like it. People should not have to sell their homes to pay for medical care nor should they have to declare bankruptcy when they are faced with a catastrophic medical crisis.
There is no doubt that health care is a very tricky business, but the current health care system in the U.S. is a blunder in itself. Over 40 million are uninsured, and yet we spend more on health care than any other country in the world. I’m not saying I support the current health care bill, because, quite frankly, I have no idea what it says. No one talks about the content, just about how awesome/awful it is. I just know that there needs to be an absolute change. The government requires cars to be insured, why not humans? And there is ways that a Govt. managed system can not be a disaster. I know this because there are many countries where it works quite well. Forget the awful things that cable news networks tell us about these terrible socialized countries with their universal health care. France, for example has the number one health care system according to the World Health Organization. I know the pundits on tv say differnent, but I’ve learned to stop believing them quite sometime ago. To answer your question of how government ran healthcare will work in the U.S., would require someone with much more expertese than myself. Just know that it does work in many places, making it a possibility in America.
Are you implying that Medicare is a disaster? Medicare has far more people in it than any proposed government health plan.
