is Yahoo Web Hosting for small bussiness any good?

I know there is an ask forum specifically for this, but i noticed there were no questions even posted recently so i thought this might be a better idea to get an actual answer.

Anyways, I manage a small local pet store and was looking into yahoo web hosting for us. What i would like out of a website is something where we can easily show pictures of different fish, reptiles, small animals, cats, dogs, tanks, supplies, monthly specials, and also be able to put a little note next to each picture with a description of some sort and a price. I’m not looking into actually selling online, just allowing customers to see what we have in stock and things like that before they come to the store.

so given what i want to do, do you guys think yahoo would be a good choice?

I also have a basic knowledge of html if that even matters, but from what yahoo’s demo shows, it seems pretty basic which is probably good for me.

-thanks so much

I was a newbie a while back ,I have an excellent experience with Bluehost webhosting.I have called them several times for configuring my SQL database and some php stuff and every time they have solved my problems . Apart from that they also have a pretty straight foward control panel that I use daily.

first of you need a domain name you can either buy or rent them.

    http://www.whois.net/

use whois to help you with finding a domain name and checking if its been taken.

You then need to think about wheter you want to buy a server or rent space on a server. I havn’t actually had a look at Yahoo hosting but if you think it beats:

    https://www.godaddy.com

you might want to go for it. It is 66 pounds for 36 months of hosting with 10 gigabytes of space and all the tools you need mysql databases email forwarding. Etc.

    hope I helped

I would rethink selling online. Why not? You can set it up for shipping or picking up at the store. What a great customer service and convenient for your customers.

It is very difficult to set up a retail webpage, but you may want to look into setting up a webpage for you instead of figuring out how to set one up yourself. It is fun to learn how to do it but very, very time consuming.

    Best of luck to you.

I have only tried two webhosting providers, and Yahoo! Small Business is excellent. I think it’s basic and simple to use. The other one, I am currently using and still testing out. It’s cheaper than Yahoo! Small Business, but I have only been using it for a couple of weeks. The only reason I tried a different webhosting provider was because of the cost.

Yes, I recommend using Yahoo! Small Business, largely in part because it’s reliable (no website downtime) and I had no problems with it so far. Good luck!

Great business .. My opinion is you must had a domain then search for some website that offer a webhosting ..There are many website offer webhosting or create a website. You can buy their service if you need that website for your services. And there also an online website that could help you to post your service, one of that is http://www.servicedfw.com.
